Houston Mifflin writes on behalf of his brother, Lloyd Mifflin thanking Mr. Markham for an inscribed copy of his book, "The shoes of happiness and other poems." The writer indicates that Lloyd Mifflin has had an attack of "apoplexy and is unable to move his right side or use his eyes at all.
